Ever Adventure’s Preschool Nature Enrichment series gives young children a chance to explore, move, wonder, create, and learn through hands-on time in nature.
This series is designed for preschool-age children who are curious about the world around them. Each week focuses on a different nature theme and may include a mix of outdoor exploration, sensory activities, movement, stories, simple science, creative projects, and play-based learning.
Children may explore topics such as:
Animals and their habitats
Birds, bugs, tracks, and signs of wildlife
Rocks, soil, leaves, seeds, and trees
Seasonal changes
Weather and water
Nature art and imaginative outdoor play
This class is designed to give young children a positive first experience with nature-based learning in a safe, welcoming setting.
What makes it special:
This is a gentle, age-appropriate introduction to outdoor learning. Children will have room to explore and be curious while practicing group participation and building confidence in nature.
We will use Olentangy Caverns’ 37 acres as our home base for exploration. Class will include outdoor and indoor elements.
Best for: Preschool and kindergarten-age children who enjoy exploring, creating, and being outside.
Ages: 3-6
Dates: Tuesdays, Sept 8 - Oct 27 (8 sessions)
Class time: 10am - 11:15am
Class length: 1 hour 15 minutes
Location: Olentangy Caverns will be our home base. Please meet at the indoor party room near the restrooms.
Parent/caregiver note: A parent or caregiver must remain on-site during class.

7/17 Update & Clarifications:
Based on questions, we’re providing additional clarification on age range and parent involvement.
Our preschool series is designed for children ages 3–6. Children who are at least 2½ years old may also register if they are generally able to separate from a parent or guardian with minimal support, follow simple group and safety instructions, and participate in short activities and transitions with the group.
This is not designed as a parent-and-child class. However, a parent or guardian must remain on-site. Parents are welcome to walk the trail, take younger/older kids to the playground, chat with friends at a picnic table, or hang out in the indoor room (space permitting).
Those registering "almost threes / young threes" may be asked to assist their child with separation, toileting, transitions, or other individual needs.
To help the class run smoothly and manage ratios, we ask that only registered children join in the activities.
Because this is our first preschool series, we will use what we learn during the fall session to evaluate and potentially adjust the age range and participation guidelines for future classes. We appreciate your partnership as we learn and grow!
